Mini-Sprint Rental Rides

In 2009 mini sprint racing in the Midwest furthered its reputation as a entry level class with the addition of a few rental rides.  Both Speed Partz and Bradley Racing offered single race or multi-race rental rides during the 2009 season.

Speed Partz offered a rent-a-ride for the first time in 2009

"Our hope was that it would provide go-kart racers and quarter midget drivers the opportunity to try the mini sprints out.  Unfortunately we didn't get things going until the middle of the season.  But I think it worked out well.  Kyle Dugan ran the car several races with the A.M.S.A. and the last driver to be in the car Brandon Longworth actually ended up purchasing it.  I guess we are back to building another rental car for 2010", commented Larry Fasse.

Andy Bradley of Bradley Racing commented, "We had a lot of interest in our car at the beginning of the season.  We got it out a few times, but it was wrecked and we just didn't get around to putting it back together as we were chasing keeping the rest of the team going.  For 2010 we'll be doing a driver development program with Dallas Kinser.  His seventeen year old daughter will be driving the car.  She has driven a modified midget a few times and was competitive. We were lucky to have ERC help us out when we got started, so I am happy to do it for someone else."

Jerry Tague's rental ride took a second place finish at Kemper Arena.

Another rental program is being added for 2010 as American Mini Sprint Association (A.M.S.A.) owner Jerry Tague will have a car for rent.  In the car's first outing Clinton Wilson brought the car home in second place at the indoor race at Kemper Arena.  "We have received so many calls from guys wanting to get a little seat time before they make their decision.  I am happy that we can provide another opportunity for them to do this", Tague commented.

Fasse explained his ultimate goal was to get to a point where he could offer lapping days.  Where a driver could show up at a track and turn laps outside of race conditions.  At the end of 2009 he took his granddaughter and a few others out to test the concept and it went very well.  He felt there was a pretty good possibility that something would come together in this regard for 2010.
