Friday Night, June 26, Moler Raceway Park, Williamsburg, OH

And We Have Another Winner !

Kerry Kinser, of the Kinser Airfilter family in Bloomington, IN, won at the ¼ mile Moler Raceway Park.  Kerry was driving a Yamaha powered upright mini sprint set up by Dallas Kinser.

Kerry received an extra $100 since this was the first MMSA feature race that he has ever won.

Kevin and Kim Moler and their staff worked hard to overcome a 3” rain earlier in the day, and have the track ready for the lightweight, super fast 1000cc mini sprints and the other four classes.

Our appreciation goes out to them for all of their hard work.

35 Raceway Park

The 600 Mini Sprint feature ran their race wingless again this week, providing for some close, exciting racing for the fans. The field was made up of 14 cars and was led to the green by the 22R of Kevin Roberts, with the 1H of Herschel Wills and the 2B of Jeff Barnhart in his tracks. Barnhart went to the inside of Wills and took the second spot on the backstretch, and then tried to the inside of Roberts, but couldn’t take the spot away. Barnhart slowed way down on the backstretch, bringing out the caution. He tried to restart the race again, but his car had a mechanical issue and he was forced to leave the race. When the green flew again it was Roberts, Wills, the 4 of Carl Cruse and the 9 of Kevin Wills. Cruse went around the 1H for the second spot, but the caution flew quickly when the 1H and the 4R of Kevin Roberts got together in turn four. The 1H had to leave the race due to a break, and the field was stacked up again for the restart. The 22R led the field to the green again, bringing with him Cruse and the 95 of Dan Lewis. The battle was for the third spot between the 9 and the 4, and Wills was able to take it in the closing laps. When the checkers flew, it was Roberts who took the win with the 95 of Dan Lewis in second and the 9 of Wills in third.
