Weekend Wrap-Up May 30th

AMSA
The American Mini Sprint Association (AMSA) event at Thunder Valley Speedway in Salem Indiana was rained out on Friday May 29th.  The next event up on the AMSA calendar is two exciting nights of racing with the World of Outlaws sprints at Lawrenceburg Speedway May 5th and 6th.  The event features ahard charger award and meal after Saturday night's race.

Waynesfield Motorsports Park

This would only be the 2nd Mini-Sprint race of this season due to the rainouts of previously scheduled races. The staff and fans at Waynesfield were thrilled when over 20 cars showed up to race this night. The mini-sprint class seemed to stuggle with low car counts last season but they are showing their support of Waynesfield this year. Miracle said he had even gotten a few calls last week from some of the racers saying that they were unable to attend this weeks race because of family members graduating high school but they would be racing all of the other races scheduled. Gary Loney led the minis to the starting line of the feature but would soon be overcome by previous winner Trevor Helminger. Helminger shot out into the lead and was able to hold that spot for over 18 laps. Wapak's Devon Dobie managed to real in Helminger and make the pass for the lead on the final trip down the back shoot. The 2 cars fought side by side around the last 2 turns but tonight would belong to Dobie. Rod Henning had a strong run to finish the race in 3rd. Heat wins went to Helminger, Todd Wills, and the pink car of young lady Becca Stiefel.
