Weekend Wrap-up

Waynesfield Motorsports Park

The 600cc mini-sprints would see a new visitor to Waynesfield's victory lane. Sam Ashworth drove his white and orange #92 mini-sprint like a seasoned veteran to lead most of the race and earn his carrer first victory. Todd Keen ran a smooth race to finish in 2nd. #47 Gary Loney is still without a win at Waynesfield this year but just keeps racking up those top three finishes, with another 3rd this week. Mini-sprint heats were won by Loney and Devon Dobie.

AMSA Lawrenceburg Speedway Results

22 AMSA mini-sprints were on hand on Saturday August 9th. The mini-sprints were divided in to three 8-lap heat races. Beau Stewart, Dustin Hueston and Hud Horton each won their heat races. Dustin Hueston would start on the pole with Hud Horton lining up behind him in row 2 for the 20 lap feature. It was no surprise to see the race come down to two drivers. Series point leader Dustin Hueston and Hud Horton pulled away from the rest of the field with Hueston showing the way. As they began to lap some of the slower mini-sprints, Hueston's lead was evaporating. Horton waited for the right opportunity and passed Hueston for the lead after Hueston got caught behind a slower car. Horton would pull away and win for the 3rd time in 2008 at Lawrenceburg. Dustin Hueston, Beau Stewart, Scott Fasse, and Greg Nicholas rounded out the top 5. The AMSA mini-sprints return to The Lawrenceburg Speedway on Saturday August 30th.

MMSA Gets Rained Out

We don't have complete news from the MMSA, but preliminary reports are that 13 or 14 cars showed up for action at Montpelier but the evening was called short after heat races when a storm moved through.
